The Quietness at Night Kits program, initiated by VPQHC, addresses the issue of excessive noise in hospitals, which can negatively impact patient recovery and staff performance. This program, offered exclusively to Vermont’s Critical Access Hospitals, promotes a quieter and more restful environment for providers and patients. This is a program that research has shown can impact the “Quiet at Night” score included in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys.
Key Achievements
Distributed 500 Quietness at Night Kits to hospitals, which include sleep masks, earplugs, and other items to help patients rest better.
Created 60 Quietness at Night posters and 18 resource binders for hospitals to support noise reduction initiatives.

Kits for Kids Waiting in Emergency Departments

The "Kits for Kids" initiative addresses the increased boarding time for children with mental health concerns in emergency departments (EDs) by providing activity kits to alleviate stress and to create a more engaging and soothing environment.
