2025 Vermont Dialectical Behavior Therapy Institute: Session 7
December 01, 2025
9AM-3:00PM
Session 7 of the Vermont DBT Institute

The Vermont DBT Institute is a statewide training and learning initiative designed to expand access to high-quality Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) across Vermont. Led by a team of experienced clinicians, Ellyn Poquette, LCSW; Danielle Seymour, LCMHC; Sue Swindell, Psychologist; Ashley Wight, LCMHC; and Rebecca White, LCMHC, the Institute supports providers in delivering DBT that aligns with national standards for fidelity and effectiveness.

The core of the Institute includes an intensive 8-day training program, divided into four 2-day sessions and totaling 48 hours of continuing education. Participants also receive curated articles and practice tools to support implementation. Beyond the initial training, all graduates are invited to join an ongoing DBT Learning Community, which offers continued training, clinical consultation opportunities, and peer support forums.

The Vermont DBT Institute emphasizes collaborative, team-based learning. It encourages participation by providers who are forming or joining DBT consultation teams, recognizing that sustained team engagement is essential to adherent practice. This initiative reflects Vermont’s commitment to advancing evidence-based mental health care and strengthening the capacity of providers statewide.

Location: In-Person (location TBD).

Who should attend? Mental health clinicians who provide direct care. Interested individuals are invited to apply. Participants must commit to attending all eight training sessions.

Applications are now open and due by August 8.
