Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) Community of Practice: Exploring Direct and Indirect Drivers

The CAMS Community of Practice is an ongoing learning and support network for clinicians who have completed training in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). Open to practitioners across disciplines and care settings, this group offers a space to deepen understanding, share real-world application strategies, and build confidence in delivering CAMS-aligned care.
In this session, Dr. Kevin Crowley will focus on strategies for applying the CAMS model, with an emphasis on understanding direct and indirect drivers and exploring optional CAMS forms. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss challenging cases and receive expert consultation from Dr. Crowley.
By the end of this presentation, participants should be able to:
1.) Define direct and indirect drivers of suicidal ideation within the CAMS Framework
2.) Identify strategies for working with clients to identify drivers.
3.) Explain how understanding drivers informs treatment planning and risk assessment.
It is recommended that Community of Practice participants have completed the Foundational Online Video and CAMS Consultation Calls.
1 continuing education credit approved through the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation for Allied Mental Health Practitioners, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, Psychoanalysts, Psychologists, and Social Workers.
Location: Remote.
Who should attend? Anyone who has completed CAMS training and wants to stay connected, grow their skills, and contribute to a supportive professional network.
