Peer learning and expert engagement to strengthen hospital quality leadership across Vermont.
Since 2012, the Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care (VPQHC) has supported the Vermont Hospital Quality Directors Network – a statewide peer network for hospital quality leaders. The goal of the Network is to advance healthcare quality and safety by creating a forum for hospital Quality Directors to collaborate, learn from one another and subject matter experts, and share best practices in a peer-protected environment. The Network convenes regularly for presentations, facilitated discussions, and networking, with a focus on real-time quality improvement strategies.
"Having never previously worked in Vermont, having the VPQHC Quality Directors Network as a resource has been instrumental. In the last several months alone, we have utilized this group for guidance and advice around policy and procedure development and for insight on specific areas including workplace violence, suicide prevention, and survey readiness. My team and I view the VPQHC staff and other directors in the state via the network as valuable resources as we seek to continuously improve the quality and safety of the care provided at our hospital. As a Director of Quality and Patient Safety new to Vermont, I am truly grateful for VPQHC and the guidance and support they continuously provide."
