Strengthening Vermont’s Mental Health Workforce Through Suicide-Specific Training and Support
VPQHC is working to increase access to high-quality, suicide-specific treatment across Vermont by training mental health providers and building a statewide referral network.

This initiative focuses on two goals: creating a directory of clinicians trained in evidence-based suicide care, and offering affordable training opportunities, including the nationally recognized CAMS model.

To support ongoing practice, VPQHC also hosts communities of practice for trained providers, offering peer consultation and continued learning.

This effort helps ensure more Vermonters can connect with compassionate, skilled care when it matters most.
“This is an important training and effective intervention for suicidality.”

“It’s an amazing opportunity to learn an effective, structured approach to suicide prevention with clients.“

“This training gave me an evidence-based framework to assess and treat suicidality. I feel more confident about my ability to work with clients experiencing suicidal ideation.”
