Empowering Vermont's pediatric and perinatal providers with rapid-access psychiatric consultation, education, and support.
The Vermont Consultation & Psychiatry Access Program (VTCPAP), hosted by the Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care (VPQHC), offers free, rapid-access psychiatric consultation and educational support to Vermont's pediatric (ages 0–21) and perinatal medical providers. Through a single access point, providers can connect with licensed clinical social workers and board-certified child, adolescent, and perinatal psychiatrists for guidance on screening, diagnosis, medication management, and treatment planning.
VTCPAP was established to address the growing mental health needs of children, youth, and perinatal individuals in Vermont, particularly in areas with limited access to psychiatric care. By equipping primary care providers with timely expert support, the program enhances early intervention, reduces unnecessary referrals, and improves continuity of care. In addition to consultations, VTCPAP offers free virtual trainings and curated resources to support provider confidence and competence in treating mental health conditions.
The consultation line is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST. To register your practice or learn more, visit www.vtcpap.com or email vtcpap@vtcpap.com.
