Operating Principles and Values

The following principles and values guide all our work.

 

1.      We undertake projects and engage in activities to achieve the vision, mission and strategic goals adopted by the Board of Directors of VPQHC.

2.      VPQHC works to ensure that the organization’s staffing, resources and financial support are effectively matched to expected deliverables.

3.      We actively seek partners and/or successors to enhance and continue our work.

4.      We undertake improvement efforts that are innovative, evidence-based and patient centered.

5.      We undertake projects that are ethical and we espouse and adhere to the highest ethical standards in all work that we undertake.

6.      We ensure that necessary resources are identified and in place to support VPQHC activities over time.

7.      We seek to engage in projects and activities where the unique strengths and focus of VPQHC can make a substantial contribution toward quality improvement.

8.      We make sure aims and objectives of any undertaking are always clearly defined.

9.      We make sure that progress towards aims and objectives is measurable and can be compared to a standard or benchmark whenever possible.

10.  We include evaluation and improvement in everything we do.

11.  We treat all data and information with appropriate confidentiality.

12.   Production and dissemination of clinical practice guidelines will primarily be undertaken in conjunction with an implementation activity.
