Zail and Sharon will go up to the Department of Health and look at the death certificates.
The committee talked briefly about how to use the Rallying Points certificates that are available to ExCEL. Jessa is investigating the timeline for applying for the certificates and will give this information to Patty. One idea was to use a Rallying Points certificate to bring a fundraising consultant to Vermont to help us identify foundation and government grants to use for expanding the IVR survey and possibly to identify funding for the advance directive registry. Zail will contact Peggy Thompson in California about the program she offers: “Winning Foundation and Government Program grants.”
John Campbell and Denise will explore using a Rallying Points certificate for an educational session with Bud Hammas. VEN would co-sponsor the session with ExCEL. This certificate will require a 1/3 match from ExCEL and John will help look for funds to support the match with possibility of getting funds for ongoing education and outreach activities from the legislature for afterwards, followup activities. Next meeting of the Steering Committee: Monday, October 4, 2004 Co-chairs’ conference call to set the agenda: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at noon |
