RWJ WORKSHOP
Zail report on the RWJ workshop.

    • Lost 25% of project directors (burnt out)
    • Where it had been "touched on" didn't work
    • Full time jobs worked (West VA)

Arnold - ?local/regional organization
Zale - Collection of individual/not of organizations
People really focused on public not professional education

Zale - rather than create a new entity, everybody should do what they do best

Central Resource (VMS ExCEL) coordination, support,
consultation to community implementation
Tim - Personal(personnel?) requests to medical/hospice leadership to participate (Ginnie)
Marie - How big? Need hospice people - MD's, RN's, others.

Zale - need to get program out

  • six task forces - mission statement (active)
  • -Guidelines (done - implement)
  • need to let people know why they are coming to meeting
  • Working agenda - Working groups
  • reports from groups (thurs. night after speaker)
  • what other needs have been identified
  • DAD grant recipients to give overview
  • news about project manager

Arnold - really need a project manager

  • without it no momentum - its own problem
  • Criteria - Senior person with passion
  • Credibility as spokesperson
  • Lot of contacts - known & respected
  • ?Retired person?
  • Form a group to shape proposal for project manager (new group)

  • Regional Hospice - Letter to hospital to meet with CEOs
  • CEO assigned member of staff to liason with ExCEL
  • Tim Lynch - Called Ginnie - didn't support
